High standards of infection control and safety

There is nothing more important than your health and safety. At Molonglo Dental Surgery, we undertake all safety precautions – including the wearing of protective gear, use of safe materials and observance of safety and hygiene protocols at all times. To guard against the transmission of diseases and infections, we use only sterilised equipment and instruments. Dental disposables and daily consumables – including those that are used inside a patient’s mouth – are strictly for “single-use only”.

To achieve more accurate diagnostic results, we recommend patients the use of low-dose radiation x-ray. It is the unanimous consensus of the professional dental community that x-rays are very useful tools that can help to detect underlying dental conditions – that may not be visible upon surface examination. They are used effectively to detect early signs and symptoms of dental problems so that immediate action may be taken to reduce or eradicate the risks of future problems.

Use of mercury-free, white composite fillings

Amalgam “Mercury” filling is a type of dental filling that is plagued by controversy as it contains the highly disputed effects of the toxic and lethal mercury component – it has been observed that amalgam fillings release mercury vapor into the body constantly throughout the day, although it is debatable whether the emitted amount could be detrimental to health.

At Molonglo Dental Surgery, we take the “Better Be Safe Than Sorry” approach to our administering of dental fillings, preferring tooth-coloured composite fillings to amalgam fillings. We even offer the safe removal of your existing amalgam fillings and replace them with the non-toxic and non-controversial White Composite Fillings.

Beyond the potential health risk factor, patients also prefer White Fillings for their aesthetic tooth-coloured properties that can be matched to the other teeth in your mouth for an unblemished and seamless look.

Pain-free and minimally invasive treatments

At Molonglo Dental Surgery, we employ modern techniques and minimally invasive treatment protocols that have been proven effective in minimising patient discomfort and anxiety. Use advanced pain-free techniques and protocols, our team of dental professionals will significantly improve your patient experience, while enhancing the comfort of your treatments.

Private health funds and HICAPS payments

At Molonglo Dental Surgery, we accept the bulk of health funds available throughout Australia and process your claims efficiently using the HICAPS payment process.
